EMMA pedals are hi-end effects, handbuilt in Denmark (like Carl Martin) and owned by such artists as: Scott Henderson, Adrian Belew, JohnScofield and several serious Scandinavian guitarists and bass players. Bassists really go for the DiscomBOBulator. Current Harmony Central user reviews are extremely positive. EMMA pedals are typically reviewed as being less noisy yet allowing more natural guitar and amp tones to come through. "Transparent" is one interesting term I've seen used.
