"...While the Maxon name may not be as commonly known as that of its distributor, Hoshino (which handles Ibanez), the company's products are familiar to guitar players. Maxon emerged in the early 70's as a small manufacturer of guitar pickups, then later introduced a line of effects pedals. During that time, Hoshino commissioned the company to build its effects pedals to be sold under the Ibanez name, and first-issue Ibanez effects were identical to Maxon pedals in terms of design and components. While the pedals were available under the Maxon name in Japan, elsewhere they were marketed by Hoshino and sold as Ibanez products. And since the 70's, All Ibanez pedals had been manufactured by Maxon including the Ibanez 9 and 10 series, as well as the Soundtank series..."
